The Xacobeo (Holy Year in Santiago de Compostela) falls in this year 2010, and is due to be celebrated in a very special way all over Galicia. Xacobeo 2010 is the programme of cultural activities organised to commemorate this unique event.
Music, dance, theatre, magic, children's shows, charity events, exhibitions, film, sports competitions, food fairs, etc… The activities in the Xacobeo 2010 programme are an invitation to experience this celebration in 10 different ways, with something to suit everyone, and featuring appearances by internationally renowned personalities and artists. The Cirque du Soleil company, with its show “Saltimbanco”, and a special edition of the Sónar international festival in A Coruña are just a few of the surprises in store.
The events are scheduled to take place in Santiago de Compostela and in other Galician cities such as Vigo, Lugo and A Coruña. The whole of Galicia will thus be transformed into a meeting point for the thousands of visitors who come from all corners of the world.
